Togo’s accession to IMO conventions
At the recent plenary session of the National Assembly this Thursday, March 25, 2021, under the office of the President of the National Assembly, Ms. Chantal Yawa Tsègan, two important bills relating to the strengthening of maritime security were adopted in unanimity.
The first bill authorizes Togo’s accession to Annex VI of the International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships (MARPOL), adopted on November 2, 1973 in London, England. The second authorizes Togo’s accession to the Convention aiming to facilitate international maritime traffic (FAL convention), signed on April 9, 1965 in London.
